The stories of those who came before us should give us reason to pause and be grateful rather than to be petty and resentful. Victor Davis Hanson has a great commentary about the ungrateful and their demonization of the past.
Keeping your grasp on reality in the current day is hard enough. But when history is being rewritten, and voices of truth are being silenced, how will you remember what truly happened? Aden Tate has some thoughts on the matter.
The longer the Covid crisis drags on, the more apparent it is that it has become a source of nearly unlimited power for authoritarians. Kit Knightly says the insanity and illogic of the approved narrative is no accident. It's about forcing us to believe their lies when the truth is right in front of us.
The thought of dealing with an economic collapse is more than most would like to entertain. Just as a thought exercise, take a look at the firsthand experiences of someone who can share lessons from an underground economy.

The upcoming anniversary of Jan 6th is going to bring a lot of emoting and posturing by politicians who wish to wallow in supposed victimhood while demanding more power over the rest of us. Just remember that we are not being told the full story of what happened. This investigative write up by Revolver News is simply remarkable.
Some people get uncomfortable when considering the similarities between between religious dogma and science as a belief system. Rob Nielsen does a great job of showing how some religious figures and scientists eventually become mascots for the cult of authority.
For those of us who grew up with The Karate Kid, the current TV reboot of the franchise is a pleasant surprise. Jon Miltimore notes that there are valuable lessons that Cobra Kai can teach a generation marinated in victimhood and safetyism.
The light is beginning to come on for a lot of folks--including the lockdowners. No amount of authoritarianism will beat a virus. Even so, the power-seekers are desperately trying to hang onto their dwindling power. James Bovard explains how air travel vax mandates will do no more to vanquish Covid.

Looks like my show is finally on the radar of the YouTube censors. This won't change a single thing in how I do what I do. Like Caitlin Johnstone says, Silicon Valley should not restrict public discourse about Covid measures which affect everyone.
It used to be that anyone who mentioned the deep state was dismissed as a wild-eyed conspiracy theorist. Judge Andrew Napolitano has a reasoned and rational explanation of the deep state and its tentacles that spells out the danger unelected bureaucrats and agents pose to our freedoms.
Social change takes place gradually enough that it can be hard to recognize what's happening unless you are paying close attention. For anyone who has wondered whatever happened to the Boy Scouts, Walter Block has a solid explanation.
As a follow up to the article I shared earlier about George Washington as a prophetic president, here's the latest from David Butler. He recounts how Dwight D. Eisenhower correctly identified and warned of dangers that would come from our own government.

Socialism is pretty fashionable in some circles. Even so, there are a lot of folks who may claim to embrace socialism without understanding what it is. Albert Eisenberg helps clear up the confusion by offering three signs you're not actually a socialist.
If you've made any type of a stand for freedom, chances are you've been labeled as a radical in some people's eyes. That's not a bad thing. Richard M. Ebeling explains how winning freedom requires some radical solutions.
Being a wrongthinker will make a person appreciate those who are willing to speak the truth, no matter the cost. If you haven't seen Dr. Peter McCullough's interview with Joe Rogan, it's worth the time. Here's a wonderful synopsis of the most important interview of the past two years.
If you've been wondering just how long this Covid crisis will continue, welcome to the club. Josiah Lippincott recounts other times the state has overreacted and what it took for authorities to eventually come to their senses. He says the everlasting Covid crisis will follow a similar pattern.

Jeff Minnick's article on three steps toward raising tough kids is a worthwhile read. It reminded me of how my dad taught me to swim by throwing me into a lake. Getting the hang of swimming came pretty easy but getting out of the gunnysack was downright scary.
Did the president just inadvertently end the pandemic? That's the question asked by Graham Dockery after Biden admitted that "there is no federal solution" to Covid and that "it's up to the states" to figure it out.
This one is going to make some folks uncomfortable but it's a topic that needs examination. Tom Mullen makes a strong case for why the Pledge of Allegiance is un-American, even if the words seem patriotic.
This past year has seen a very clear line drawn between parents and government school bureaucrats. Two questions that are worth a closer look: 1. Just what is education for? and 2. Is there a plot to push parents out of education?

People who question what those in power are telling them should be shunned by responsible members of society, right? Nope. James Bovard explains why those questions are well-founded--especially in the case of Covid and corrupt federal statistics.
This is a great time of year for those of us who choose to make self-reliance a priority. Daisy Luther has a timely list of what to buy at the after-Christmas sales. This is a great time to stock up on things you'll be needing next year.
The sound of children at play is one of the best things you'll ever hear. That play time may be more important than we think. Lenore Skenazy spells out what kids learn when they are 'just' playing.

When someone tells you to follow the science, too often this is another way of saying, "Shut up and do what I'm telling you." Each one of us has a responsibility to be our own fact-checker. As Joakim Book explains, that means that the only question that matters is: Is it correct?
If you've ever been labeled unfairly, you know the pain it brings is real. Paul Rosenberg makes a clear distinction between fixed traits and fate to remind us that losing doesn't make us permanent losers.
Trust for the political class is quickly disappearing. And for good reason. It's hard sometimes to remember when politicians weren't so craven in their power-seeking. If you haven't read George Washington's farewell address, you're missing a chance to hear some prophetic advice from a great man.
I know we're not supposed to take any pride in being an American today, at the same time, those who know and live the principles and practices of freedom can't help but feel blessed. Geoffrey M. Vaughan has a great essay on American citizenship and how we're caught between creed and clan.

Eric Peters from Eric Peters Autos joins me for a year-end retrospective. We talk about the good and bad of 2021 and what to watch for in 2022.
Why does it feel as though the inability to leave others alone is spreading? J.D. Tuccille says America's divisions may have passed the tipping point.
If you've ever taken pleasure in seeing another person suffer because of their political beliefs, you're on a slippery slope. Never forget that authoritarianism is fueled by the viciousness of tribalism.

CJ Hopkins has been doing a lot of the investigative journalist heavy lifting in reporting on our forced transition to the new normal. His take on the year of the new normal fascist is worth your time. (NB: This commentary contains some bad language)
The Christmas truce of 1914 is one of the most inspiring stories of the past century. David Stockman recounts the story and takes a deep dive into exactly why there still is no peace on earth, 107 years later.
The efforts to suppress unauthorized opinion are getting more intense. Steve Kirsch relates how LinkedIn has sought to punish him, over 3 truthful comments, by erasing his existence there.
A number of voices have been sounding the warning about substantial increases in food prices dead ahead. Chris MacIntosh does a great job of connecting the dots between our current energy crisis and how it affects our food supply.
I've been a Drew Carey Fan for many years. After reading David Hathaway's article about a glorious fist bump that Carey recently shared with a winning contestant on The Price is Right, you'll understand why this game show host is a stand up guy.

Sometimes, it seems like we are being told that our current, overlapping crises cannot end until enough people embrace Marxism. Doug Casey does a marvelous job of explaining how Marxists have captured the universities and may soon capture the nation.
The folks in power are working themselves into another tizzy as the first anniversary of the January 6 uprising approaches. Patricia Henry says now is as good a time as any to take a closer look at how we're entering the American Twilight Zone.
If this Christmas was anything like the last couple, it's a safe bet that a number of folks became first time owners of firearms. Brian Miller has some excellent advice about youth gun safety: a smart parent's guide to keeping your kid safe.
