To illustrate the depth of the scientific divide over Covid lockdowns and vaccines, take a closer look at Fauci, emails and some alleged science regarding the Great Barrington Declaration. Phillip W. Magness and James Harrington have some eye-opening evidence regarding how far the powers that be are willing to go to silence dissenters.
A lot of public health "experts" seem to think they can control a virus. Jordan Schachtel says, in reality, these experts in government and academia are exposing themselves as clueless charlatans who want to control the rest of us.
The people and systems that seek to rule us work overtime to convince us that they're simply responding to what we really want. Paul Rosenberg warns not to believe them and he describes why we'll be so much better without them.
Going to college used to be the key to a brighter future. Unfortunately, a college degree just doesn't open the doors it once did. Peter Clark has a compelling explanation of why college degrees are losing their value.
The question that should be on our minds as 2021 draws to a close: where do we go from here? Thomas Luongo describes what it's like finding strength along a post-Covid Fury Road and reminds us to remember who broke the world in the first place.

For all the times we've heard or recited the words "liberty and justice for all", few people really stop to think about what those words mean. Jeffrey A. Tucker from the Brownstone institute asks, what happened to liberty and justice for all and why should it matter?
People still talk about things like individual liberty and the rule of law but the slogans we use seem to be lacking credibility. Roger Kimball explains the freedom facade and how we've become untethered from reality.
As wrongthinkers, we tend to be less concerned with the approval of the crowd. Even so, it's sobering to consider what is considered mainstream thought today. J.B. Shurk has a great essay on what you must believe as an American in 2021.

Hypothetically speaking, if you were ever to look around you and come to the conclusion that legitimate tyranny was at your doorstep, would you make the mistake of playing tyrant's game? Jeff Thompson warns that you can play a tyrant's game but you still lose.
Even if you're not a fan of Ayn Rand, her novel Atlas Shrugged foreshadowed some of the abusive policy-making that we're seeing today. For those who are serious about telling leviathan "no", Thomas Luongo says it's time for all good men to stop fearing John Galt.
Do you believe that most people tend to either live up or down to our expectations of them? Kent McManigal says it's essential that we let people make their own choices rather than try to micromanage them--for their own good. After all, it's the only way we can grow into functional members of society instead of remaining forever children.
Looking at the way various nations reacted to the Covid-19 pandemic, it's clear that not everyone went full authoritarian. Bryan Caplan says that by measuring overreaction, we can be grateful that not everyone went the way of Australia.
I've known a few folks who've had to deal with peripheral neuropathy but I was surprised to learn that nearly 20 million Americans suffer from this kind of progressive nerve damage. Shamis Tate from Pure Health joins me to explain the problem as well as a drug-free solution for treating it. For more information you can call (435)442-4848

The danger of being misled by misinformation is real. Unfortunately, the ones who do most of the misleading are the very people working overtime to "protect us" from misinformation. Glenn Greenwald reports on the real disinformation agents and provides a textbook example of how they're doing it.
Are states with greater freedom less safe? For that matter, are people flocking to Texas, Florida and Idaho so they can feel less safe? These are among the questions posed by Casey Carlisle who convincingly explains why if you want to be safe, then leave people alone.
Along those same lines, here's a great essay from Joakim Book on the virtues of leaving people alone. It's a great reminder that most of the things we get wound up over are things we choose to let upset us.

After nearly two straight years of rapidly deepening authoritarianism, there's a sense that resistance is beginning to solidify. Jeffrey A. Tucker explains how Elon Musk being named as Time magazine's Person of the Year is an encouraging sign, given Musk's recent outspokenness against that rising tide.
We're all familiar with the story of The Emperor's New Clothes. However, the less of that story seems lost on most of our elected officials. Walter Gelles has an interesting take on why no politician dares to utter the obvious: "The emperor has no clothes."
Maybe it's just the accumulated stress and strain of the past 2 years but I find myself focusing in on this Christmas season much more than in years past. The commercial trappings of Christmas are fun but Judge Andrew Napolitano says that taking Christmas seriously is a matter of humility, charity and willingness to submit to God's will.
When words are overused or abused, they lose their power. Steve Feinstein has a great commentary on the abuse of the words "heroes, racists, and Hitler" and how these words are becoming meaningless.
One of the biggest sources of conflict and contention is the continual overreach of federal power over our state and local governments. George Leef explores the question of how do the feds get away with that?

It's curious how hard some people are willing to exert themselves in order find reasons to believe in the state. What's happening to Julian Assange is a perfect example of this. For the Assange case explained simply, Caitlin Johnstone gets right to the heart of the matter. A very worthwhile read.
If you haven't been following Dr. Peter McCullough, he offers a principled and informed counterpoint to those pushing the official response to Covid. In fact, his recent interview with Joe Rogan is causing serious heartburn for the Covid narrative managers. Especially when Dr. McCullough describes how doctors worldwide were restricted in how they could treat Covid patients.
If you've ever read Thomas Jefferson's writings, it's not hard to see why he is widely considered the architect of liberty in America. That's why it's a safe bet that the history erasers will be coming for his statutes sooner than later. Paul Krause has an excellent essay in praise of Thomas Jefferson and why his legacy of freedom must be erased by the historical revisionists.

Politics is a leading cause of enemy-driven thinking. That's why I find less and less relevance for it in my own life as time goes by. Christopher Chantrill points out how, in politics, you can never admit you were wrong. That's the kind of thinking that makes conflict inevitable.
Should we be concerned that some in government like to think of the American people as their "customers"? How many businesses flex on you and seek to dominate you every time you are in contact with them? Thomas L. Knapp says, no, president Biden, we are not your customers.
Nothing has caused a greater shift in how I live my life like the decision to live with a clear sense of purpose. That's why I encourage my listeners to tap into their own purpose as a guiding star for their life's journey. Annie Holmquist has 5 rules for finding purpose that are very helpful.
Is it possible to comply with enough Covid regulations that the people issuing those regs will return our former freedoms? Before you answer that question, consider Kit Knightly's point that you will never be "fully vaccinated." Those goals posts are moveable for a reason.
Some people are so enthralled with gaining and maintaining power over others that they cannot help but grasp for a bit more whenever they think they see an opportunity. Case in point, the folks who were pointing to last week's flurry of deadly tornadoes and claiming the storms were proof of "climate change." Craig Rucker reminds them that climate and weather aren't exactly the same thing.

My penchant for self-reliance isn't about preparing for apocalyptic times. It's about maintaining the ability to say "no" when someone in political authority thinks they need to force you to do something. Ryan McMaken warns that the authoritarians will use the welfare state to get compliance with vax mandates.
If you are a supporter of free speech, it's time to stand up for the free speech of everyone--including those with whom you disagree. The Good Citizen substack has a marvelous recounting of the very public suicide of YouTube thanks to its efforts to engage in politically motivated censorship.

I struggle each day on this show to strike a balance between keeping my listeners informed and weighing them down with unpleasant truths. Paul Rosenberg has a very thoughtful approach for how we might teach our kids about the lovely and the unlovely without making them afraid of the world.
How can we make our young people tough enough to face the challenges ahead? Jeff Minnick explains how giving them the tools to survive and overcome the the ordeals of the future starts with allowing them to face and solve problems.
The shorter days and colder weather can make it harder for some of us to stay positive. Annie Holmquist reminds us that finding hope in a dark time is possible, even when we're suffering. We can be optimistic even when we don't know what the future holds.
Countering the flood-tide of darkness that is sweeping over the world is a daunting job. But it's time to stop waiting for someone to ride to our rescue. James Howard Kunstler has some encouragement as well as some sober advice for men: Your job is to stand up and bring order to the world, so stop hiding among the women and children like you're one of them.

Eric Peters from Eric Peters Autos is a reliable source of reasoned commentary in a world where disinformation is king. We talk about why we cannot be expected to follow the demands of those who are trying to slam the door shut on discussion and why we must become our own fact-checkers.
Alexander Solzhenitsyn said, "To stand for truth is nothing. For truth, you must sit in jail." Here's a perfect example of what that kind of moral courage looks like today, look no further than the Minnesota business owner who sits in jail for defying lockdown mandates. Becky Akers says, this woman is teaching the community a lesson, all right.
One of the more disturbing trends I've noticed over the past few weeks is the number of professional athletes who have either collapsed and/or died unexpectedly. Robert Bridge dares to ask the questions few others will: Are these vaccine injuries and have professional athletes become the canaries in the Covid coal mine?
